At Cowboy Kennels, we get a ton of interesting questions from pet parents. Below are some common FAQs that might help answer any questions or concerns. Please feel free to call us at 210-822-1166 for any other concerns you might have about your pet.
What are your holiday hours?
We will be closed Friday, December 24th and Saturday, December 25th for Christmas and closed the following week Friday, December 31st, and Saturday, January 1 for New Years. During this time, no pick-ups/drop-offs will be accepted.
What are your drop-off hours?
Drop-offs can be done anytime we are open with current vaccines. Please allow 20 minutes for your first time checking into Cowboy Kennels. Please remember that reservations are required.
What vaccines/ medical are required for my pet?
Please, remember: All vaccine records must be from a licensed veterinarian. We will contact your veterinarian to obtain all vaccines given.
We reserve the right to deny admittance to pets lacking proof of vaccinations, and/or pets displaying signs of untreated or potentially contagious conditions.
Upon admission for services, your signature of contract acknowledges your awareness and acceptance of our policies.
Fleas
- We assume every pet is flea-free.
- If we notice your pet has fleas, a Capstar will be given for $8.00.
Medications

$3 medication fee per night per pet, if any prescription medications or OTC medications/vitamins are provided by owners.
Dogs
- Rabies (1 or 3 year)
- Distemper/Parvo (DHPP/DAPP 1, 2, or 3 year)
- Leptospirosis (1 year)
- Canine Influenza Vaccine (1 year)
- Bordetella (every 6 months, even if given as an annual)
Cats
- Rabies (1 or 3 year)
- FVRCP (1, 2, or 3 year)
- We also recommend the FeLV vaccine

We offer:
- Automatic water bowls
- Mounted food bowls
- Raised Kuranda beds
- 4×7 and 3×5 dog run
- Daily playtime for cats
- 3 daily outside/playtimes for dogs
- Indoor AC-controlled boarding
- Catio playtime for cats
What are your prices for boarding?
Dogs
- Serenity Room (Toy Breeds up to 11lbs): $34 per night
- 11lbs – 24lbs: $40 per night
- 25lbs – 50lbs: $42 per night
- 51+lbs: $44 per night
2nd dog from the same family in the same run receives a 25% discount.
Cats
- $34 per night
- Double Cat Kennel – $44
Extra playtime is $1 per minute for our outside catio.
What is included in the Luxury Lodging Suite for Dogs?
In addition to our normal amenities, our Luxury Kennels include online day viewing access of your pet(s). These kennels also include unique murals and a complimentary bath on the day of pick-up.
Suites are $60 a night, 2nd dog from same family in same run receives a 25% discount
Do you offer additional services that come with boarding?
Yes, we do. All dogs are taken outside three times a day for exercise with an attendant. Extra playtime and walks are available for an additional fee.

We only do our walks in the morning
Extra 15-minute outside playtime – $15/day
If booking multiple kennels, each kennel will be charged for separate extra playtime fees.
Essential bath – Starting at $38 – $50 per pet (based on weight)
Nail trim and ear cleaning is included
Seasonal bath – Starting at $60
Spa bath – Starting at $75
De-shed – Starting at $44 – $65 per pet (based on weight)
Flea bath – Starting at $55
De-skunk – Starting at $75
Day Care (full day/half day boarding)
Dogs under 20lbs – $34/day
Dogs over 20lbs – $40/day
Cats – $25/day
Do you offer daycare (day boarding)?
Yes, we offer daycare. Daycare includes two playtimes for both dogs and cats and an afternoon snack.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, checks and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and Amex). Please remember payment is due in full at check-out.
Do you sell any pet merchandise?
Yes, we sell dog beds, leashes, collars, harnesses, keychains, lanyards, T-shirts, and dog toys!
